Point of view
I believe the best engineering disappears. When hardware and software are designed as one system, people stop thinking about the machine and simply trust it.
That trust is earned below the surface: in firmware that fails safely, in testing on real hardware, and in systems that behave the same on the thousandth day as on the first.
Intelligence is now finding its way into machines that walk, carry, and explore. I want to build them with that same care, here on Earth and, one day, in space.
I’m based in Austin and speak English and Mandarin.

Two generations of robotic shoes, Moonwalkers and Moonwalkers Dusk.
First generation
Moonwalkers
I took Moonwalkers robotic shoes from a Carnegie Mellon garage to global mass production. I helped build the entire software stack and led board bring-up through certification. TIME named them one of the Best Inventions of 2023.

Second generation
Moonwalkers Dusk
Moonwalkers Dusk is Shift’s second generation, launched in September 2026. I architected the entire system software stack. I go deepest in embedded firmware, mostly in C with some Assembly: real-time wireless over Bluetooth LE and Wi-Fi, USB-C Power Delivery and battery management, fault-tolerant safety logic with watchdogs, and over-the-air updates. Beyond the shoe, I architected the server, cloud, mobile app, simulation, data storage, security, and code-release infrastructure. I also built the hardware-in-the-loop test setup and was the primary code reviewer.
